Jeff Schwarz & Randy Steen Clinic

Randy Steen and I are conducting two referee camps this summer.  As the attached flier indicates, there will be a Level 1 camp (Two Person Mechanics) on Sunday, June 13 from 5-9 pm, and a Level 2 camp (Three Person Mechanics) with the classroom portion on Thursday, June 10 from 6-10 pm. with the on-court training TBA.  You will be able to choose the night you work and most campers will fulfill their on-court requirements in one night.
Our Level 2 camp will provide each referee with a DVD of them working a game.  We think this will be of great value to the official.  Area assignors will also be invited to attend the camp with the exact names and dates those assignors will be present to be announced.
The clinics will be staffed by outstanding officials who are also career educators who have proven to be excellent communicators and teachers.
We hope that AOS members and guests will be interested in the camps and hope they can attend.  We look forward to seeing you this summer.
Regards,
Jeff

The classroom portion of the clinic will be on June 13, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  The games will be on Wednesdays (Varsity boys) and Thursdays (Varsity girls) beginning June 16th thru mid July.  The clinicians will be Fred Allman, Randy Steen, Mark Leffler, myself and several other IHSA Clinicians and State Final Officials.  Assignment chairman will be invited to observe officials attending the clinic.  Last year several officials got the opportunity to work the Mid Suburban League, Central Suburban, North Suburban, Fox Valley and the Dundee Crown Tourament, after being observed at the clinic.

This clinic satisfies the IHSA requirement and give you credit toward the power rating you need for state tournament assignments.

Here is the power rating explaination from the IHSA web site:

Clinic attendance (highest clinic in last three years): Level 2 -- 5 pts., Level 1 -- 2 pts.
Clinic attendance (most recent clinic): this year -- 5 pts., last year -- 3 pts., two years ago -- 1 pt.

Don't miss out on the 10 points that are available to you toward your power rating for attending a Level 2 Clinic.
