Bob Brown Night was celebrated on Friday, Dec. 8th at Journey’s End in Mundelein. We had an excellent turnout and collected $735.00. Our goal each year is to exceed $1000.00 so we can award a scholarship in that amount to a District 155 athlete. If you were unable to attend on Dec. 8th and would like to contribute to the Bob Brown Fund, please submit your donation to Randy Steen.
NOAFORUMS.ORG---This is a new web-site created by Bruce Ruttenberg for the NOA. This Web-site is for Football, Basketball, and Baseball. You can log on and post questions and offer your answers to questions already posted. This can be a great tool to get information on plays and rulings that comes up during the season. Make sure you visit often.
From President--- Tom Vogan

This was an outstanding year for attendance at our meetings. We averaged around 50 members/guests. We have increased our Basketball membership by about 25. Thanks to those who brought in new members. New members are our life blood, so keep up the good work.
A special thanks to Kurt Gibson for taking time to speak with us. I also want to thank our members Tom Brophy, Steve Gibble and Jerry Blum who made presentations to the group.
Any questions contact Rocky at firstname.lastname@example.org

A reminder to all NOA basketball officials. The NOA board has decided to use Jay Lyons Quickbase as a site to look at for officials availability. Assignors will be notified that this will be the best place to find officials open dates. The site address is http://members.aol.comjaylyons/bb/qbdir.htm . Also you can put your availability on the Arbiter.com with Jerry Ming. Please post your 2006-2007 open dates on thesesites.
If you are interested in lower level or Sophomore dates in the CSL from Jerry Heidlauf contact me at MichaelBabicz@aol.com Get your requests in now as Jerry wants to fill these as soon as possible.
The Arbiter has just added a feature called “My Referee”.
What My Referee is, simply articles about officiating and information to help you as an official. There are articles of general interest, sport specific articles and advice, as well as quizzes you can take to make sure you’re up on the rules. (Eventually, assignors will be able to “build their own tests” for officials to take, which who knows, would allow some insight into if an official is ready to (at least rules wise) move up to the next level. To have a look around My Referee there’s a link at the bottom of the left-hand column on the Arbiter.

To the following officials who gave of their time and energy to referee at the Special Olympics of Illinois State Basketball Tournament the weekend of March 17 & 18, 2007. This is a great way to give back for all the gifts we have received. The people that play in these games appreciate our time and help in running these basketball games. Our Area 2 (soon to renamed Area 51) had about 15 officials go to Bloomington to work games. We are in the process of recruiting officials for not only the District Tournaments but also next year’s State Tournament. For the State games SOILL pays for your room and will reimburse you for your mileage.
Again thank you to the following officials:
Mike Roseman, Tom Vogan, Vince Cannon, Shane Cannon, Jim Kruschwitz, Jerry Blum, Mike Babicz and Steve Doty
