Basketball  President -- Rocky Nelson
2005 NOA Basketball Report:  It was a rough year for me personally, but the group had a good one. I was not able to attend all the meetings due to an eye injury, but Tim Robbins and others stepped up and ran the show.(Just a quick side note: I am back officiating and want to thank everyone for their concern over my tough time. Thanks.)

Some of our speakers were Ken Maziarka, Tim Robbins, Jerry Ming, and Harry Bohn. We covered some interesting topics with special note to Harry’s on court presentation, which is always good. Jim Bernardi’s review of the IHSA CD with great plays review. Our own Tom Brophy and Mike Geske graced the CD.

Attendance was extremely good this year and I am hoping to continue on that high note the next two years .Thanks for electing me to another two year terms your Basketball President. Please contact me if you have a special topic or speaker you would like to have at our meetings.

Summer camps   I plan on having my basketball camps in June at Zion Benton and Crystal Lake South High Schools. The dates are not yet confirmed so please watch the IHSA, NOA, and Jay Lyons’ websites for further information.

From Mike Babicz
A reminder to all NOA basketball officials. The NOA board has decided to use Jay Lyons Quickbase as a site

to look at for officials availability. Assignors will be notified that this will be the best place to find officials open dates. The site address is http://members.aol.comjaylyons/bb/qbdir.htm . Also you can put your availability on the Arbiter.com with Jerry Ming. Please begin posting your 2006-2007 open dates on these sites.
